KAYAKING ON THE WILD COAST OF PULA
The best kayaking in Pula is on the wild coast of the Muzil peninsula: high cliffs, rocky passages you can only reach by sea, a hidden tidal cave and crystal-clear water for snorkeling. All our tours start from Valovine Beach in Stoja, just a short ride from the city centre.
Here is everything you need to know before you paddle with us.
OUR KAYAK TOURS
Kayak Adventure is our classic tour: three hours along the Muzil coast with sea caves, a swim, snorkeling and optional cliff jumping. It runs from April to the end of September, and in July and August there are up to six departures a day.
Sunset Adventure follows the same wild coast in the evening and ends with the sunset over the sea. It runs from June to the end of August.
Private Groups are tours just for your group – friends, families, schools or companies, from small groups to 100+ guests.
WHAT YOU WILL SEE
From Valovine Beach we paddle past Pula’s highest cliffs into a canyon of narrow rocky passages. When the sea and tide allow, we explore a hidden tidal cave. The stop is a secluded cove reachable only by sea, where you can swim and snorkel to the entrance of an underwater cave – look out for fish, sea urchins, starfish and sea cucumbers.
Feeling brave? Try cliff jumping – optional, and unforgettable.
On the cliffs you will often see seagulls, wild pigeons and cormorants drying their wings in the sun, and with a little luck bottlenose dolphins come close to say hello.
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Before every tour your guide gives a short safety briefing and shows you how to paddle. Our sit-on-top double kayaks are stable, comfortable and easy for beginners. The tour is easy to moderate, with a relaxed pace of about three nautical miles or less, so a basic level of fitness helps. On windy days paddling takes a little more effort.
SAFE ON THE WATER
Every tour is led by local, certified guides who carry all the safety equipment, including tow ropes, and life vests are always worn. The route depends on the sea conditions on the day. If the sea is too rough, the tour moves to another day and you choose a new date or a full refund. Anyone joining the swim or snorkeling must be able to swim.
KAYAKING WITH KIDS
Kids from 5 years can join. Children up to 12 paddle in a tandem kayak with an adult, and from 13 they can paddle on their own.
WHAT’S INCLUDED & WHAT TO BRING
Included: local guides, kayak and paddle, safety briefing, safety gear and dry bag, snorkeling gear and tour photos. Your guide takes photos along the way whenever possible, but helping guests in the water always comes first.
Bring a swimsuit, sun hat, sunscreen, beach towel and a bottle of water. Drinks are not included and alcohol is not allowed on the tour. Space in the dry containers is limited, so it’s best to leave backpacks in the car.
WHERE WE MEET
All tours start from Valovine Beach in Stoja, Pula, easy to reach by car or by city bus, with free and paid parking nearby. Please arrive 20 minutes before departure.
